Building Digital Ecosystem in Telangana

ABSTRACT:
The role of the governments in building digital ecosystems is that of an enabler or a catalyst. In this session Ms. Rama Devi will share the efforts of the Govt of Telangana in putting in place the enablers or the key components of the ecosystem. She will be speaking on Data Enablement, one of the key components comprising of creation of datasets, formulation of the Data Management Policy Framework, and setting up the Data Exchange Platform.

Ms. Rama Devi Lanka

Director, Emerging Technologies, ITE&C Department, Govt.of Telangana

Rama Devi Lanka leads the Emerging Technologies Wing of the Information Technologies, Electronics and Communication Department (ITE&C) of government of Telangana. Her role is to formulate and execute policy frameworks that would create a conducive ecosystem for the growth of emerging technologies in the State, build institutions of excellence and assist the government in leveraging these technologies for better governance and in improving service delivery to citizens.

Prior to joining (ITE&C Dept.) she was  Senior General Manager at  National Institute for Smart Government (NISG) and was involved in a number of e-Governance projects that were crucial in bringing in reforms and transformation in various domains such as Health, Visa-Immigration, Civil Aviation etc, She was involved in the implementation strategy of the Meghraj policy of cloud for Government of India.

She also had a brief stint with the start-ups in the Silicon valley. Rama holds a Post Graduate Degree in Environmental Engineering from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University and did an Executive Program in Business Management from the Indian Institute of Management, Kolkata.
