Indian cities need secure and controlled sharing of all types of data. To enable this, India’s Smart City Mission (SCM) in the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) has worked intensively with the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore to create a state-of-the art data sharing platform called India Urban Data Exchange (IUDX). IUDX is developed, maintained and operated by a dedicated team, based in IISc. As a complement to IUDX, IISc has launched the DataKaveri research program to explore aspects of data science, privacy & security, economics, policy and regulations that will facilitate the use of data for public good.
