It helps them to step up and take control of their vast data resources, enabling improved function of their own departments as well as creating new sources of revenue. City will prioritize the use cases and datasets which are important for the city administration or the citizens
IUDX and City team will jointly evaluate the use cases and datasets and decide on the datasets to be onboarded on to IUDX
Up on commissioning the IUDX platform for the city, the city will identify and engage with the use case application partners and share the required datasets to them to develop and deploy the use case applications.

The IUDX program has been designed keeping the requirements of the city management councils in mind. Here are the benefits that a city management can derive:

If the city has an ICCC system, IUDX will integrate with the existing APIs and provide the ability to share data coming from city solutions and also from other private and public sources that are not currently being sent to ICCC.
As IUDX integrates solution APIs of multiple vendors, the system will become vendor agnostic and hence no lock-in with the first vendor for renewals. This is because of open source and open standards.
Access to pre-negotiated relationships with private data providers where privately owned and public data would be needed to solve some of the city’s pressing problems.
If the city does not have ICCC then IUDX will allow an ICCC app to be created that can provide ICCC function at a dramatically lower cost.
Access to the IUDX App Store portfolio of independent app developers to readily use the existing applications and also to develop the new ones, to solve specific city challenges.
Additional revenues through data monetization, reduced cost of city operations through efficient service applications and citizen’s satisfaction through applications for their convenience.
Participation in City Showcase, a program that brings together app integrator’s and IUDX to create innovative and valuable apps for city admins and citizen. The best ones get featured by MoHUA and awarded.

Benefits of City Management
Datasets

IUDX is a cloud software platform, which is deployed and managed by IUDX organisation for all the cities. The data ingestion modules specific to the city datasets will be developed and deployed along with the IUDX platform.

IUDX is not a rip-and-replace deployment but takes the data from the end solutions directly onto IUDX system without any disruption to the existing solutions, systems, APIs, databases or ICCC.
The IUDX components (Catalogue, Consent, Resource) will allow the data sets to be searched, requested, permitted and exchanged.
Though IUDX is targeted to be deployed as a cloud platform, it could be deployed in a traditional on-premise model too if it is required to meet any specific requirements.
The high bandwidth video data will be typically served from the local data centre but sample files for initial testing will be served from the cloud portal too.

IUDX deployment is a highly collaborative activity between IUDX team, the city administration, master system integrator, solution provides (OEMs) and the ministry!

Project kick-off and IUDX orientation meeting with City CEO and stake holders

Review the City readiness with City CEO, and align for obtaining relevant data and information as per the IUDX deployment plans

Obtain the technical information (Datasets, APIs, Documentation), define work packages, effort estimation and detailed planning

Software Development and testing of the city specific modules

Deploy IUDX city specific modules, onboard the planned data sets, testing, implement data sharing policies and commissioning

Training & Support for city/vendor contacts and stakeholders, handover and move into support mode

The potential use cases that can be targeted using this information includes: urban planning, green corridor, emergency route planner, etc.
Bus Transit	Information about the public transit buses and bus operations across smart cities in the nation. This includes public transit information like: routes, trips, stops, real-time bus location, ETA, bus occupancy, fare collection etc. The potential use cases that can be targeted using this information includes: urban planning, multi-modal transportation, route planner, route optimization, shared transportation, etc
Citizen Grievances	Information from citizen applications across smart cities in the nation. This includes information like: cleanliness levels, garbage pick-up status, overflow levels of drains, malfunctioning of civic amenities. The potential use cases that can be targeted using this information include: urban planning, infrastructure optimization, etc.
E-Bike Sharing	Technology based smart bike sharing information from private smart city partners like Yaana Smart Technologies Pvt Ltd, Yulu Bikes Pvt Ltd, SmartBike Mobility Pvt Ltd. Information pertaining to bike sharing stations, availability of station-wise bikes for hire on real-time basis for the bike sharing partner in consideration is made available. The potential use cases that can be targeted using this information include: urban planning, multi-modal transportation, route planner, last-mile connectivity planner, shared transportation, etc.
Environmental Information	Environmental sensors in the form of connected objects providing various types of information: location, air quality, rainfall from different locations in a city across the smart cities in the nation. This information can be used to solve/enhance the city specific problems with a data-oriented approach, the potential use cases that can be targeted using this information include: urban planning, health care monitoring and planning, rain water harvesting, air quality monitoring etc.
Flood Data	Flood sensors/cameras in the form of connected objects providing information about: location, water level, water level alerts from different locations in a city across the smart cities in the nation. The potential use cases that can be targeted using this information include: urban planning, flood monitoring, rain water harvesting, disaster management, etc.
Metro Rail	Information about metro rail and metro rail operations across smart cities in the nation. This includes metro transit information like: stations, routes, trips, lines etc. The potential use cases that can be targeted using this information includes: urban planning, multi-modal transportation, route planner, route optimization, shared transportation, etc.
Meterological Information	Information from India Meteorological Department (IMD) and its collaborative agencies like Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology. This includes historical and forecasted information for rain fall. The potential use cases that can be targeted using this information include: disaster management, urban planning, rain water harvesting, flood monitoring, etc.
Revenue collection	Information about city revenue collection across smart cities in the nation. This includes information like: revenue generated from vehicle registration, property/professional tax, city facility booking. The potential use cases that can be targeted using this information include: unauthorized usage/infrastructure, urban planning, etc.
Road Information	Technology based road mapping information from private smart city partners like RoadMetrics Private Limited. Information pertaining to the road quality, road assets, signs of the roads that are audited. The potential use cases that can be targeted using this information include: urban planning, road infrastructure development, alternative route planner, safety index, etc.
Safety index	Technology based road mapping information from private smart city partners like My Safetipin: Complete Safety App. Information pertaining to the Safety index of streets, places of the places, streets that are audited. The potential use cases that can be targeted using this information include: urban planning, city infrastructure development, alternative route planner, safety index, etc.
Smart Parking	Information about vehicle parking facilities for private vehicles across smart cities in the nation. This includes information like: parking lot locations, occupancy, availability status, fare, usage time. The potential use cases that can be targeted using this information includes: urban planning, multi-modal transportation, shared transportation, route planner, etc.
Smart sensor locations	Information about the locations of typical smart city public utility systems which include: Wi-Fi Systems, Public Address Systems, ECB Systems, Variable Messaging Board Systems, Public Information (Digital Kiosks) Systems across smart cities in the nation. The potential use cases that can be targeted using this information include: disaster management, traffic information and traffic diversions, emergency route planning, etc.
Solid Waste Management	Information from various solid waste management agencies working under municipality corporations across smart cities in the nation. This includes information like: waste pick-up locations, real-time vehicle location, weight of waste collected, employee attendance. The potential use cases that can be targeted using this information include: urban planning, optimization of solid waste collection, route planner for solid waste pick up, etc.
Street Lights	Information form electricity supply companies/agencies across smart cities in the nation. This includes information like: streetlight locations, energy consumption, streetlight feeder distribution. The potential use cases that can be targeted using this information include: urban planning, electricity optimization, safety index, etc.
Video Samples and Feeds	Feeds and files from video systems deployed across smart cities in the nation. This includes video feeds from surveillance, traffic junction/special purpose monitoring cameras deployed in the city. The potential use cases that can be targeted using this information include: urban planning, safety index, city infrastructure development, surveillance applications, flood monitoring, traffic monitoring, etc.
